What's Blooming on the Property: August/September

Have you ever seen a garden of Zinnias in full bloom?
If not, you can here at Inn at Perry Cabin! These “cut and come again flowers” have the ability to produce new flower buds quickly after cutting the flowering stem above the leaves. Zinnias have style, in addition to long, strong stems, so they are naturally destined for the vase. You can get to our cutting garden just past the Spa, if you follow the gravel path to “What’s Blooming” here at Inn at Perry Cabin.

Just beyond our greenhouse grows a display of wildly colorful Celosia flowers.
This annual showy bud is easy to grow and makes the perfect cut flower for a striking bouquet. Celosias are valued for its colorful and unique flower heads that come in various colors such as purple, pink, red, yellow and orange. If you look closely, you’ll see a bumble bee happily enjoying this beautiful flower that is located by our cutting gardens, just past croquet lawn and bocce court.

Spotted in our cutting gardens is this beautiful eastern shore native butterfly.
Zinnias are “What’s Blooming” around Inn at Perry Cabin. Their blooms last from mid-summer until the first frost. The flowers attract butterflies, which are responsible for the pollination of these plants. The “Hardest-Working Flower in the Summer Garden” yields such beauty in full bloom. Come stroll the grounds and take the path right past our green house to the blooming quintessential summer garden.
